Title : Milkman’s self identity in Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon
Idea : Milkman’s crisis of identity.
Focus : Main Character “Milkman”
Synopsis :

Macon (Milkman) Dead, derives his nickname from the fact that he was breastfed too long. He loses all interest in himself and others when at age four; he found that humans cannot fly. And when he was fourteen, he found that one of his legs grows shorter than the other. He grows up nurtured by the love of his mother and his aunt, Pilate. He is taken care of by his sister, First Corinthians and Magdalena (called Lena), and adored by his lover and cousin, Hagar. Milkman’s mother, Ruth, is the doctor’s daughter; she tends to make her husband feel inadequate, and she idolized her father. Macon Jr. (Macon Dead II) is often violent and aggressive towards her out of frustration when she acts helpless, because he has worked hard to get to where he is. However, on one occasion, it is Milkman who punches his father after he threatens Ruth. Pilate, Milkman’s aunt becomes a poor but strong and independent woman, the mother of a family that includes her daughter, Reba and her granddaughter, Hagar.
By the time Milkman reaches the age of thirty-two, he feels bored living with his parents and wants to escape somewhere else. Macon Jr. informs that Pilate keeps gold in her house. With the help of his best friends, Guitar Bains, whom he promises a share of loot, Milkman robs Pilate. However, they just find some rocks and a human skeleton. Guitar is especially disappointed because he needs the gold as the funds to carry out his mission for the Seven Days, a secret society that avenges injustices committed against African-American by murdering innocent whites.
Then, Milkman goes to Pennsylvania to find the gold but he finds the facts about his family. He finds the true about his grandfather Macon Dead I which has the real name Jake and marry an Indian girl named Sing.

One day last summer, his friend Rahim Khan called from Pakistan. He asked him to see him. Standing in the kitchen with the receiver to his ear, he knew it wasn’t just Rahim Khan on the line. He and baba were more alike than he had ever known. They had both betrayed the people who would have given their lives for them. And with that came this realization: that Rahim Khan had summoned him here to atone not just for his sins but for Baba’s too. so that’s why Amir leaved his wife in America and going back to Afganistan to salve Hassan’s son (Sahmanah) from Taliban. 2). Title:
Historical approach of King Arhur’s character in King Arthur movie

Topic:
Analyze of King Arthur’s character using historical approach

Synopsis:

King Arthur is a 2004 epic film directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by David Franzoni. The makers of the film claim to present a historically accurate version of the Arthurian legends, supposedly inspired by new archaeological findings. The accuracy of these claims is subject to debate, but the film is unusual in representing Arthur as a Roman soldier rather than a medieval knight.
Arthur, also known as Arturo from his name Artorius Castus, is portrayed as a Roman cavalry officer and commander, the son of a Roman father and a Celtic mother, who leads a military force of Sarmatian cavalry in Britain at the close of the Roman occupation in 467 A.D. He and his men guard Hadrian's Wall against the "Woads", a Celtic people who resist Roman rule, based on the historical Picts, led by their mysterious leader Merlin. He is not the first Arthur - over the years, many of his ancestors have manned the Wall, leading Sarmatian auxiliaries. Arthur and his remaining men Lancelot (whose voiceover is heard at the beginning and end), Bors, Tristan, Gawain, Galahad and Dagonet - are expecting discharge from the service of the Empire after faithfully serving for 15 years. However, they are dispatched on a final and possibly suicidal mission by Bishop Germanius of Auxerre in the freezing winter to rescue an important Roman family, which includes the Pope's godson, from impending capture by the invading Saxons, who are led by their chief Cerdic and his son Cynric. The knights are charged with this rescue because Rome is retiring from Britain, now considered an indefensible outpost. In the course of this mission, Arthur encounters and rescues a Woadish princess, Guinevere, from the imprisonment and torture by the Roman citizen he is charged with rescuing. Guinevere reveals that she is the daughter of Merlin, and Arthur himself is revealed to be half Celt (on his mother's) side. His famous sword, Excalibur, is also shown to be his father's, which he drew from the tombstone on Pendragon's burial mound as a boy (inspiring the legend of the Sword in the Stone) in an effort to rescue his mother who died during an attack. In due course, Arthur and his remaining men forsake Roman citizenship and form an alliance with the Woads to fight the Saxons. In the climactic battle, the Battle of Badon Hill, the Saxons are defeated and Cerdic and his son are killed — at the cost of many lives, including Lancelot's and Tristan's.
The film ends with Arthur and Guinevere's marriage. Merlin then proclaims him to be their king. King Arthur and his remaining knights promise to lead the Britons, now united after the Romans leave, against future invaders. The last scene shows Lancelot, Dagonet and Tristan roaming the lands freely as reincarnated horses as told in a legend by Lancelot's father.

HURT lyrics

Seems like it was yesterday when I saw your face
You told me how proud you were but I walked away
If only I knew what I know today

I would hold you in my arms
I would take the pain away
Thank you for all you've done
Forgive all your mistakes
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To hear your voice again
Sometimes I want to call you but I know you won't be there

I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself by hurting you
Some days I feel broke inside but I won't admit
Sometimes I just want to hide 'cause it's you I miss
You know it's so hard to say goodbye when it comes to this

Would you tell me I was wrong?
Would you help me understand?
Are you looking down upon me?
Are you proud of who I am?
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you looking back

I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself
If I had just one more day, I would tell you how much that
I've missed you since you've been away

Oh, it's dangerous
It's so out of line to try to turn back time

I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself

By hurting you

And I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders
Family in crisis that only grows older Why'd you have to go?

But I am hoping!
Daughter to father!
Daughter to father!
I am cryin',a part of me's dyin'
And these are(these are),confessions of a broken heart.
And I wear all your old clothes, the old polo sweater

One who would never
Never leave me alone to pick up the pieces

So why'd you have to go?

2) Title : Message reflected in August characters and conflict in August Rush Movie

Theme : August Conflicts

Synopsis: A drama with fairy tale elements, where an orphaned musical prodigy uses his gift as a clue to finding his birth parents
A boy named Evan Taylor (Freddie Highmore) lives in an orphanage, all the while believing that his parents are alive. He believes the music that he hears all around him is his parents communicating with him. He meets a counselor, Richard Jeffries (Terrence Howard), of the New York Child Services Department. Evan tells him he does not want to be adopted, because he believes his parents are still alive and will come to collect him eventually.
Through a series of flashbacks, his parents are revealed to be named Lyla Novacek, (Keri Russell), a famous concert cellist, and Louis Connelly (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), an Irish guitarist and lead singer of a rock band, who spent one romantic night together and never saw each other again. Lyla became pregnant, which her father did not approve of, instead wanting Lyla to have a successful career without the obstacle of a child. After an argument with her father, Lyla ran out of a restaurant and was hit by a car. While in hospital, she gave birth to a son. Afterwards, she was told by her father that her child had died, unaware that he had actually been delivered successfully and then been sent to a orphanage by her father.
Evan has a strong faith that as long as he follows the music he listens and reacts to it, he will have a chance to be found by his parents. He makes his way to New York City, where he is taken in by a man known as "Wizard" (Robin Williams), who houses various orphans and runaways, employing them to play music on the streets and taking a large cut of their tips. Evan immediately proves to be a musical child prodigy. Wizard enlists him and gives him the name "August Rush", convincing him he will be sent back to the orphanage if his real name is ever discovered.
Lyla only discovers that her son is alive when her father, knowing that he is dying, confesses what actually happened. Lyla immediately sets out to New York to look for her 11-year-old son.
Louis has never forgotten Lyla and does not know about Evan. Both have since given up music careers.
After a raid by the police, Evan takes refuge in a church, where he again impresses with his natural musical talent and is enrolled at the Juilliard School as "August Rush." A work he composes is chosen to be performed by the New York Philharmonic in Central Park, but Wizard barges into a rehearsal, and Evan reluctantly follows him back to his life of performing music on the streets.
Meanwhile, Lyla has discovered Evan's identity and has decided to stay in New York while searching for her son. While there, she decides to resume her cello career. She is then chosen to play in the same concert, which features Evan's piece. Louis, being wrongly told that Lyla has since married, also returns to New York to resume playing with his former band. He has a chance meeting with Evan in Washington Square Park and they play music together, although neither knows who the other is.
The night of the concert, Evan finally chooses to run from Wizard in favor of performing at his concert. In the meantime, Louis races to the park when he sees Evan's pseudonym along with Lyla's name on a sign billing the concert. Title:THE CRITICISM OF BLACK FEMALE SUBJECTIVITY OF THE BEAUTY STANDARD BASED ON THE COMMUNITY IN TONI MORRISON'S THE BLUEST EYE

This novel came about a critical moment in the history of American civil rights. If we look the year of this novel which is taken as a setting as one can see from the year (1940),during the years of some the most dynamic and turbulenttransformations of Afro-American life. One of those transformations was a new recognition of Black-American beauty. After centuries of coveting white dolls and decades of longing to look like Caucasian Hollywood stars,Black-Americans began to argue for a new standard of beauty. This new standard was meant to be racially inclusive, allowing blacks to see black as beautiful, but the need to argue for this new standard reveals how firmly the white standard of beauty was entrenched.
In this case,I would like to criticize about the black female subjectivity of the beauty standard based on the community. This novel examines the tragic effects of imposing white,middle-class American ideals of beauty on the developing female identity of a young African American girl during the early 1940s.This story is an adaptation of how oppression emotionally and psychologically impacts a young girl named Pecola, who was oppressed by society, community, and her own family. As a result, her reality is subjectively based on the premise that if she could have "the bluest eyes",she would then be revered by all of her oppressors. She lives in a society that says "beauty is good, and ugliness is bad",and without reassurancefrom her family right in the beginning her self-image of herself is extremely poor.Society creates a perception that in order to be beautiful, one must have blue eyes and blonde hair, and Pecola has neither, and therefore society decides that she is uglyand this is why Pecola search throughout tha novel is for bue eyes.

Title : An Analysis of My Chemical Romance's Emo Lyrics in The Black Parade Album

Topic : Death

Synopsis :
My Chemical Romance have given a tremendous gift to today's teenagers who live too many of their days in the shadow of the specter of death whether inspired by news of the war in Iraq, guns and guards in their schools, terminal disease, or tragic accidents that take the lives of their friends. The band cover all the bases with powerful music and imagery that is ultimately supportive, heroic, and loving.
The Black Parade of Death

Death is not a new topic of consideration for a rock band. However, too often death is used primarily for shock value. My Chemical Romance choose instead to dissect and explore death on The Black Parade in a way that illuminates dark corners, confronts fear head on, and drops multiple messages that add to hope and respect for the heart of the individual. The way is littered with sarcasm, pain, and riff after searing riff of guitar rock bound together in a loose narrative of a dying hospital patient. My Chemical Romance have left the post-hardcore emo ghetto behind and with The Black Parade establish themselves as hard rock contenders.
Far-Ranging Topics of Consideration

On The Black Parade My Chemical Romance demonstrate that death is a broad topic that can be explored productively from a wide range of angles. The quiet tones of "Cancer" discuss the emotional and psychological pain of terminal illness. "Teenagers" confronts directly the fear and dehumanization that stalks the halls of dangerous schools, and "Mama," laced with bitter music hall whimsy and a guest appearance from Liza Minnelli, explores a waking death brought about by participation in war. My Chemical Romance's hyper-melodic, amphetamine-laced rock gives the words a cutting urgency they would not possess on their own.

1. Title : a study of William Wilberforce’s struggle against the slavery trade upon 18th century British capitalism in Amazing Grace movie

Topic : the struggle of William Wilberforce against the slavery trade.

Synopsis :
Amazing Grace portrays the life and work of the British politician and abolitionist campaigner William Wilberforce. The film concentrates on the period between the 1780s and the early 1800s, during which Wilberforce was involved in the movement to abolish the trade in enslaved Africans. Featuring a number of high-profile British actors, including Michael Gambon and Tom Courtney, Amazing Grace is a skilfully-filmed period drama.
The film begins with Wilberforce severely ill and taking a holiday in Bath, Somerset, with his cousin, Henry Thornton. It is here that he is introduced to his future wife, Barbara Spooner. Although he at first resists, she convinces him to tell her about his life. The story flashes back 15 years to 1782, and William recounts the events that led him to where he is now. Beginning as an ambitious and popular Member of Parliament (MP), William was persuaded by his friends William Pitt, Thomas Clarkson, Hannah More and others to take on the dangerous issue of the British slave trade which led him to become highly unpopular in the House of Commons amongst the Members of Parliament representing vested interests of the trade in the cities of London, [[Bristol], Liverpool, and the famous city of Colin Traver.

Exhausted, and frustrated that he was unable to change anything in the government, William becomes physically ill (the diagnosis in the film is colitis, most commonly known today as Crohn's disease), which brings the story back to the present day. Having virtually given up hope, William considers leaving politics forever. Barbara convinces him to keep fighting because if he does not, no one else is capable of doing so. A few days afterward, William and Barbara marry; and William, with a renewed hope for success, picks up the fight where he had previously left off, aided by Thornton, Clarkson and James Stephen. In time, after many attempts to bring legislation forward over twenty years, he is eventually responsible for a bill being passed through Parliament in 1807, which abolishes the slave trade in the British empire forever. David Koenecke, the greatest of any one in this time and on, a great inspiration to Wilbur, saved him in his time of great need. He was the great heartbeat of Wilbur, and helped him on his way to eternal glory in the eyes of African Americans.

Idea: Hawthorne's unconscious influences the streaming of the story

steps to analyze:
-understanding the freud's concepts about unconscious mind

-trace back the Hawthorne's life and social background through historical approach

-understanding the literal meaning of the story and shows how the intrinsics support the theme through formalism

-understanding the deep meaning of the story (behind the literal study) this will work with formalism or biographical approach as well

-applying the Freud's theory by showing the reflection of Hawthorne's unconscious in the story
